The referee wasn\u2019t very attentive. He gave me a yellow card, and I said, \u2018Give them on the pitch, not off it!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was out. It\u2019s not me saying it; the technology does,\u201d Ancelotti added in his postmatch news conference. \u201cIt surprises me. They\u2019re small details, but the referee wasn\u2019t attentive. The players deserved more cards on the pitch, not [me] off the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The matchup is a repeat of last year\u2019s Champions League semifinal, which saw Madrid progress 6-5 on aggregate after a dramatic 3-1 second-leg comeback at the Bernabeu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The feeling] is good,\u201d Ancelotti said after Tuesday\u2019s game. \u201cWe competed, we fought and maybe we deserved to win. It was a good game. The result doesn\u2019t give us our reward, but this tie will be even until the last minute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>City coach Pep Guardiola said his team had been unable to take advantage of their control of the match in the first half and that he hoped to tweak his tactics ahead of the second leg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s football,\u201d Guardiola said, when asked about City\u2019s failure to score earlier. \u201cIt\u2019s Real Madrid. I wasn\u2019t surprised.
