Defaulters will be prosecuted in accordance with the Local Governance Act 936, Section 154 1, the court may authorize the sale of your property to recover the outstanding amount owed. Pay promptly to prevent any inconvenience.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/3news.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Public Announcement https:\/\/t.co\/52Q1u2M42v <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/43FtzkjUnY\">pic.twitter.com\/43FtzkjUnY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 GRA (@GhanaRevenue) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GhanaRevenue\/status\/1646539057927782400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 13, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This comes at a time the Executive Member of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Tsonam Akpeloo asked the GRA to follow the example of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) which was going round to collect its debts, to also do the same and collect property tax.<\/p>\n<p>Tsonam Akpeloo indicated that property tax is one of the areas where the government can generate revenue, not only through taxing businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Ghana Tonight show on TV3 Wednesday, April 5 in connection with the three revenue bills \u2013 Excise Duty, Growth and Sustainability Levy and Income Amendment Bills<strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>that have been approved by Parliament, he said \u201cOur view is that government must look at its own expenditure and reduce its expenditure to reflect the realities of the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTimes are hard and you cannot afford to have a bloated expenditure this time. We feel very strongly that government should consider reviewing its own expenditure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added \u201cThere are many ways of mobilizing revenue, for example, property tax.
