A lawyer\u00a0representing\u00a0Jonathan Majors\u00a0has shared what she says are screenshots of a text message exchange between her client and the woman originally alleged to have been the victim\u00a0in the actor\u2019s recent assault arrest.<\/p>\n
Priya Chaudhry, the actor\u2019s lawyer,\u00a0shared the alleged texts with\u00a0TMZ, which published a report on their contents on Thursday. In the alleged texts, the woman is seen texting Majors shortly after the arrest, \u201cThey assured me that you won\u2019t be charged.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the same alleged text, the woman tells Majors he was arrested due to protocol \u201cwhen they saw the injuries on me and they knew we had a fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
Later, in another alleged text, the woman said officials do not have her \u201cblessing on any charges being placed.\u201d Elsewhere, she mentioned reiterating her comments to a judge and specifically mentioned reports of strangulation having been involved in the alleged incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cI read the paper they gave e about strangulation and I said point blank this did not occur and should be removed immediately,\u201d the alleged text states. \u201cThe judge is definitely going to be told this.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Majors was arrested in New York this month and later arraigned on assault and harassment charges.\u00a0In a statement at the time,\u00a0per a report from\u00a0the Associated Press, a New York City Police Department said that the alleged victim had told officers \u201cshe was assaulted.\u201d The same spokesperson also said that the alleged victim had \u201csustained minor injuries to her head and neck\u201d and had been taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n
Complex has also reached out to the NYPD, as well as to the DA\u2019s office,\u00a0about the latest developments in the case.<\/p>\n
A rep for the actor, whose recent roles include starring turns in the Sundance-premiered\u00a0Magazine Dreams<\/em>\u00a0and the latest\u00a0Ant-Man<\/em>\u00a0film, was quick to issue a statement denying this weekend\u2019s allegations. Majors, a rep said at the time, \u201chas done nothing wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shortly after that initial statement on Sunday, Chaudhry was quoted in\u00a0multiple reports\u00a0as saying that her client was \u201c[probably] the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.\u201d In that statement, the lawyer also pointed to an alleged \u201cemotional crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n
