{"id":51683,"date":"2023-03-30T11:36:15","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T11:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/03\/30\/mobile-money-vodafone-partner-to-enable-merchant-interoperability\/"},"modified":"2023-03-30T11:36:15","modified_gmt":"2023-03-30T11:36:15","slug":"mobile-money-vodafone-partner-to-enable-merchant-interoperability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/03\/30\/mobile-money-vodafone-partner-to-enable-merchant-interoperability\/","title":{"rendered":"Mobile Money, Vodafone Partner To Enable Merchant Interoperability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Shaibu Haruna<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Vodafone Ghana Mobile Financial Services Limited (Vodafone Cash) and Mobile Money Limited (MML) have enabled interoperability services that allow MTN Mobile Money and Vodafone Cash customers pay at each other\u2019s merchant point of sale.<\/p>\n<p>This partnership is a major milestone in creating an enabling environment in furtherance of the financial inclusion agenda of both entities and the Government of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The service according to a statement went live on March 1, 2023 and is available to all Vodafone Cash and MTN Mobile Money customers.<\/p>\n<p>Customers of both networks can now make direct payments for goods and services at any MTN Mobile Money or Vodafone Cash enabled merchant point across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Chief Executive Officer of MML, Shaibu Haruna, indicated that it is an important first step in line with the MTN Group Ambition of developing the largest financial services platform in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply committed to building an all-inclusive payment ecosystem that provides a platform for all players to flourish. We look forward to partnering with other players in the market to leverage off our distribution network to offer their services to customers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Vodafone Cash\u2019s Acting Mobile Financial Services Manager, Judith Adumua-Bossman, stated said Vodafone Cash believes that partnerships are key to expanding access to financial services for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are dedicated to creating innovative solutions that will help our customers better manage their financial goals.
