And this is our way of saying thank you for their support of the company and patronizing our products” he said.

T.B Coordinator, Okaikoi Sub Metro, Health Directorate, Haphsheitu Yahaya indicated that TB is a severe illness that affects the lungs with bacteria. It can spread when a person with the illness coughs, sneezes, or sings.

This can put tiny germ droplets into the air. Another person can breathe in the droplets, and germs enter the lungs.

“It also spreads easily where people gather in crowds or live in crowded conditions. This explains the main reason why Ashfoam partnered with us to screen their workers.

Other people with weakened immune systems have a higher risk of tuberculosis than people with typical immune systems.

Antibiotics treat tuberculosis. But some forms of the bacteria no longer respond well to treatments which makes it advisable to visit the hospital for proper treatment of TB,” she added.

Emmanuel Munkoh a beneficiary in an interview with the media expressed appreciation to the Ashfoam company and its supporting partners for the screening exercises.

BY Prince Fiifi Yorke

Some residents going through the health screening exercise. Ashanti Foam Factory (Ashfoam), has screened some residents in the Okaikoi community in Greater Accra Region to mark this year’s world Tuberculosis (TB) Day.
