Actor-turned-politician Fred Nuamah has expressed confidence he will emerge victorious in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.<\/p>\n
According to him, he is far ahead of his major contender, John Dumelo who represented the NDC in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n
Speaking in an interview on UTV\u2019s United programme, Mr Nuamah predicted he has already won the election by a landslide.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have already won and I\u2019m far ahead. The last poll conducted by my office indicated I was about 80% ahead of him while he had about 20%,\u201d he disclosed.<\/p>\n
The two who have come across to many as best friends for the past weeks have been in the news after Mr Nuamah announced his intentions to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat.<\/p>\n
He was accused of stealing Mr Dumelo\u2019s spot amidst calls for him to step down.<\/p>\n
Mr Nuamah has, however, stated he is willing to engage his friend, Mr Dumelo but will not in any way step down for him in the race.<\/p>\n
He, however, assured that he will not let politics ruin the relationship he has built with colleague John Dumelo despite their recent fallout.<\/p>\n
Mr Nuamah said that he sees John Dumelo as a brother and it will be a shame if their years-long relationship comes to an end because of politics.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cJohn Dumelo is not my friend, he is my brother, so I won\u2019t let politics come between us. I won\u2019t let politics destroy our brotherhood. Apart from him being my brother, NDC is one party so our issue is a house matter,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Mr Nuamah said that people are not privy to what goes on behind closed doors adding \u201c for all you know we have resolved our issues.\u201d<\/p>\n
