A Nyamira county law court has reportedly ordered the sacking of Hon Dolphine Nyangara, a nominated MCA under the top-up category in the Nyamira County Assembly.<\/p>\n
This comes weeks after a petition was filed by one Mitchell Kemuma who challenged the nomination of Dolphine. <\/p>\n
According to reports, Mitchell had argued that the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) led by Wafula Chebukati used a wrong list of nominees that led to Dolphine\u2019s appointment.<\/p>\n
In her petition, she informed that Dolphine was a resident in Kahawa Wendani Ward and also a registered voter in Kiambu county. On that note, the petitioner argued that it would be unfair for her to lead the people of Nyamira yet she barely understands their challenges.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Court ruled in Mitchell Kemuma\u2019s favour, stating that the nomination of Dolphine Nyangara is indeed illegal and should therefore be overturned. <\/p>\n
Further, the court reportedly ordered immediate replacement of the MCA, a process that needs to be conducted by the IEBC as well as the Registrar of Political Parties.<\/p>\n
