As the race for the presidency intensifies across Nigeria’s political space ahead of the widely-discussed 2023 general elections, renowned public affairs analyst, and Commissioner of Information in Edo State, Kassim Afegbua has come out to accuse the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of making moves to manipulate the technology that will be deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the upcoming polls.

Speaking during an interview on Africa Independent Television’s ‘Kaakaki’ program on Monday, Afegbua, a self-professed supporter of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accused the PDP of sending a team of ICT experts to Israel and Dubai in order to learn how to bypass INEC’s Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) with the aim of rigging the presidential election.

“We are easy to conclude when people raise issues and we say it is allegations. When I revealed that three APC governors were meeting with Atiku in Dubai, did the PDP spokesman, Daniel Bwala not come out and say that there were indeed eleven of them working for Atiku? And you say I am raising allegations? Talking about BVAS, as I speak to you, people are being trained by the PDP presently in Israel and Dubai but I will not be tempted into mentioning their names. I am not just one Nigerian out there. I am privilege by virtue of my status as a journalist to know these things. And I interact very deeply with people across the country and I have access to a lot of persons and platforms, so, I know what I am talking about.”
