{"id":25652,"date":"2023-03-08T07:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-08T07:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/03\/08\/ncc-launches-wear-ghana-festival\/"},"modified":"2023-03-08T07:30:00","modified_gmt":"2023-03-08T07:30:00","slug":"ncc-launches-wear-ghana-festi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/03\/08\/ncc-launches-wear-ghana-festi\/","title":{"rendered":"NCC Launches Wear Ghana Festi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The National Commission on Culture (NCC) in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), CeeJay Multimedia and Ayalolo Festi, has launched this year\u2019s edition of Wear Ghana Festi.<\/p>\n<p>The month-long festi, which is being organised to showcase and promote Ghana\u2019s cultural heritage and local textile industry, as well as to recognise creativity in the fashion industry, is on the theme \u2018Wear Ghana, for Jobs in Ghana\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The mission of NCC is to promote the growth and development of Ghanaian culture, making it more relevant to human development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year\u2019s festi is an opportunity to promote our national identity and encourage institutions to support our local fabrics and accessories,\u201d the commission said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the world becomes increasingly globalised, it is now important more than ever to celebrate and preserve our cultural traditions and uphold the integrity and memory of cultures, particularly the Ghanaian culture,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the commission, socio-cultural and economic researchers and scholars have indicated that clothing and fashion are key elements of a people\u2019s culture that reflect on the people\u2019s history, customs, belief systems, knowledge systems, communication and their general way of life as well as their natural resources.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the activities lined up for the festi within the month include; exhibition with CeeJay Multimedia, outreach programmes in basic schools, NCC fashion flash, Wear Ghana on campus, fugu hub exhibition and traditional exhibition \u2013 last week of March to April.<\/p>\n<p>The National Commission on Culture, since the inception of Wear Ghana Festi in 2017, has used the month of March to increase advocacy and campaign on made-in-Ghana clothing, fashion and accessories and fabrics.<\/p>\n<p>The festi is used to promote all locally made products and services, from food to herbal medicine.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s edition will feature several activities aimed at creating employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth in the fashion and creative industry.<\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 The National Commission on Culture (NCC) in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), CeeJay Multimedia and Ayalolo Festi, has launched this year\u2019s edition of Wear Ghana Festi.
