Chris Rock\u00a0got everything he wanted to say about the\u00a0Will Smith slap at the 94th annual Academy Awards\u00a0off his chest during his Netflix special.<\/p>\n
On Saturday,\u00a0the 58-year-old comedian performed his\u00a0Selective Outrage<\/em>\u00a0stand-up special\u00a0in Baltimore, live on Netflix, where he addressed the incident involving Smith a year later.\u00a0<\/p>\nSelective Outrage<\/strong>\u00a0has been a long time coming.\u00a0A\u00a0source tells ET, Rock was focused on the comedy special for the past year and his hard work paid off and he can now \u201crelax.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\u201cEveryone was very happy with how it turned out,\u201d the source says, adding that Rock was \u201cin his element\u00a0and was calm and comfortable onstage.\u201d<\/p>\n
The source noted\u00a0that the special was a \u201cbig deal\u201d not only because it was a live event, but because it was the first time that Rock\u00a0publicly addressed \u201cthe slap\u201d in a meaningful way. Now, the\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/em>\u00a0alum is ready to move on.<\/p>\n\u201cHe said everything he wanted to say,\u201d\u00a0the source says. \u201cIt was funny, self-deprecating, and thought-provoking. Now, \u201cChris is ready to move on.\u201d<\/p>\n
Selective Outrage<\/em>\u00a0saw the comedian perform in Jada Pinkett Smith\u2019s hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. During the special,\u00a0Rock spoke about \u201cwoke culture\u201d along with a series of references to the Oscars incident\u00a0\u2014 which happened after Rock made a joke about Pinkett Smith\u2019s\u00a0hair. Rock also spoke about\u00a0Meghan Markle\u2019s claims of racism against the royal family.\u00a0<\/p>\nAnother source added that Rock is proud of the special and so are his famous comedian friends.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cChris thinks his Netflix special was amazing and he feels great,\u201d the source says.\u00a0\u201cHe is glad he waited to debut his material on Netflix for such a big audience and to finally share his reaction to what happened with Will. He is also happy Netflix supported him and gave him the first live event platform to deliver his message in this unique, new way. Chris is one of the funniest, most respected comedians in the\u00a0world, and his friends all thought his special was hilarious and smart.\u201d<\/p>\n
The source continued, \u201cChris\u2019 comedian friends have had his back throughout everything, including Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld. His crew all sticks together and agreed Will was out of line for slapping Chris. On Saturday, Rock had a night filled with celebration. According to a source, the actor was joined by Dave Chappelle and other stars as he celebrated during an after-party \u2014 which included\u00a0heightened\u00a0security.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rock left Baltimore this morning and plans to take at least a month off now that the special is over.\u201d<\/p>\n
The same source also noted\u00a0that Rock\u00a0called Smith after news of Pinkett Smith\u2019s \u201centanglement\u201d was revealed, but Smith\u00a0never picked up his call.<\/p>\n
So far, neither Smith\u00a0nor Pinkett Smith\u00a0have publicly spoken out about the Netflix special.<\/p>\n
