Isaac Tetteh, aka TT Brothers

President of Uncle T United FC, Isaac Tetteh (TT Brothers), has admonished the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to give newly appointed Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton, a free hand to operate.

To the Managing Director (MD) of TT Brothers Limited, the success of the new coach hugely depends on his employers not interfering in his duties.

The current GFA has been accused of meddling in the affairs of past Black Stars coaches.

And that, according to the Uncle T United boss, will greatly affect the performance of the former Brighton manager.

“The FA should give him a free hand to operate, we have heard stories of the GFA interfering in the works of coaches, and l can say that has accounted for where we are now as a national team,” he said in an interview.

The former Hearts of Oak board member added, “if indeed we want to see our Black Stars get to the top, then the GFA should allow him to work, after all they know he can handle the team hence the appointment.

“They should also give him a long term contract to build his team, it wouldn’t happen in a day. Team building takes time. He knows his reputation is at stake when given a free hand so he will employ every tactics to succeed.”

The 64-year-old has been working as a technical adviser for the Black Stars since February 2022.

He replaces Otto Addo, who stepped down after the World Cup in Qatar, where Ghana finished bottom of Group H with one win from three matches.

It is Hughton’s first managerial role since he was sacked by Nottingham Forest in September 2021.

George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani will continue as Ghana’s assistant coaches.
