Singer Davido has finally paid Chioma\u2019s bride price (Umunna) in full at Ezeala Odu, Imo state<\/p>\n
The singer has paid in full to Umunna group in Owerre, Nkworji Ezeala ofu Nkwerre Local government area in Imo State.<\/p>\n
In photos and video posted online, Chioma\u2019s dad could be seen performing the Umunna rites and umuada rites.<\/p>\n
The second phase of an Igbo wedding is the Umunna rites which is a meeting between the groom\u2019s family and the bride\u2019s extended family. This meeting is important because the groom\u2019s people have to restate their interest in marrying from the bride-to-be family, in the presence of her Umunna (direct and extended family, with family elders). Once consent has been secured, dates for the traditional wedding will be set and the bride price list will be sent out. The groom takes a few gifts such as kola nuts, palm wine, beer, soft drinks, tobacco, snuff and a goat which will be shared between the groom and bride\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
Davido traditionally weds Chioma<\/h2>\n
Kemi Filani reported that Davido and Chioma had traditionally wedded in November, following the loss of their son.<\/p>\n
Gistlovers blog had alleged that the singer secretly got married to Chioma after their son\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
The traditional wedding which was done in his father\u2019s house, had few family friends in attendance with no camera allowed.<\/p>\n
According to the blog, Chioma\u2019s bride price had been paid in full.<\/p>\n
Recall that Davido had vowed to marry Chioma next year, but after the tragedy happened, the singer speedily wedded her.<\/p>\n
The traditional wedding was held on November 6th, to console Chioma and assure her of her place with Davido.<\/p>\n
Davido and Chioma vacation in Cape Verde<\/h2>\n
This is coming after the lovebirds vacationed in Cape Verde, alongside Davido\u2019s elder brother, Adewale Adeleke and his wife, Kani.<\/p>\n
Blogger, Gistforum 9ja shared videos from their lavish vacation online. Davido, could be seen in one of the videos playing with his niece while Chioma, who is still grieving her son, looked sober.<\/p>\n
The couple also spent the Christmas festivity with his family.<\/p>\n
A video posted on Kani, the wife of Adewale Adeleke\u2019s Instagram story, showed the family enjoying an extravagant Christmas dinner.<\/p>\n
Since the death of their son, Davido and Chioma have withdrawn from the spotlight and have been keeping a very low profile. While Davido made his first return to Instagram, Chioma has remained inactive on Instagram.<\/p>\n
The couple have been spending more time with family. This is to ease their grieve and to keep them in check from self harm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
