Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has admitted questioning his ability to drag the team out of their recent crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n While results have been largely positive for United \u2013 Erik ten Hag\u2019s side are up to sixth after beating Aston Villa 3-2 \u2013 serious concerns over the team\u2019s performances and ability to score goals have seen the pressure on everyone at Old Trafford ramped up.<\/p>\n Fernandes played an integral role in the comeback victory over Villa, after which he admitted periods of self-doubt during\u00a0United\u2019s struggles.<\/p>\n \u201cThe belief has to be there, because if you don\u2019t believe in each other it\u2019s going to be difficult,\u201d he told\u00a0Amazon Prime<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously in these last moments there\u2019s going to be some disbelief, even in yourself. You start to think, \u2018Am I even good enough to be here?\u2019. It\u2019s normal when things are not going right. It\u2019s the way you overcome that and get results even when things are not going well.\u201d<\/p>\n Fernandes worked hard against Villa \/ Naomi Baker\/GettyImages<\/p>\n Fernandes also argued the recent minority takeover from Sir Jim Ratcliffe has not had much of an impact on the squad, who remain focused on their tasks at hand.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not going to change anything we do on then pitch, unless they put money [in] and bring some players for us,\u201d Fernandes said of the new ownership group. \u201cBut it has to be us [that] makes the difference we need.<\/p>\n \u201cThe papers and social media\u2026we see everything, it\u2019s impossible not to. We know what the club is going through but we have to focus on what we can control and our performances.\u201d<\/p>\n United now sit just five points off the top four and will hope to maintain this feeling of optimism when they face Nottingham Forest at the weekend.<\/p>\n
