A legal practitioner and an expert in taxation, Yaw Boamah-Nyarko has submitted his nomination forms to contest the Effia constituency parliamentary primaries in the Western Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).<\/p>\n
The employee of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) who aims to retain the Effia constituency seat for the NPP in the 2024 elections successfully filed his nomination form at the party\u2019s constituency office at Effiakuma.<\/p>\n
He will be contesting the incumbent NPP MP for the Constituency, Joseph Cudjoe in the January 27, 2024 Parliamentary primary.<\/p>\n
The affable politician was accompanied by a mammoth crowd of party delegates and supporters who marched through the principal streets of the constituency displaying party paraphernalia as they expressed their unwavering support for the aspiring parliamentary candidate amidst brass band music.<\/p>\n
They later gathered at the party\u2019s constituency office where the legal practitioner presented his forms and the filing fee of GHC35,000 to the NPP constituency secretary, Philip Nyarko.<\/p>\n
The aspiring parliamentary candidate also paid a non-refundable Development fee of GHC40,000.<\/p>\n
The constituency secretary called on lawyer Boamah and his followers to exercise decorum and circumspection in their statements as they campaign for votes.<\/p>\n
He stressed the need for all the aspiring candidates to run a clean campaign, devoid of insults and personal attacks since the contest was an internal one.<\/p>\n
Addressing journalists, Yaw Boamah-Nyarko said \u201cI have submitted all the necessary documents and the fees as required by the party from all aspiring parliamentary candidates.<\/p>\n
He expressed optimism that he would win the Parliamentary primary of the constituency come January 27, 2024, and retain the seat for NPP<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is an internal contest and I believe NPP will win the 2024 general elections if the party remains united before and after the internal elections in January\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am coming with fresh ideas that will ensure massive developments in the area to help improve the people\u2019s living standard and I am going to campaign on issues and not insults\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n
