{"id":133712,"date":"2023-12-21T12:17:14","date_gmt":"2023-12-21T12:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/21\/niger-police-parade-bandit-leader-dattijo-repel-jail-break\/"},"modified":"2023-12-21T12:17:14","modified_gmt":"2023-12-21T12:17:14","slug":"niger-police-parade-bandit-leader-dattijo-repel-jail-break","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/21\/niger-police-parade-bandit-leader-dattijo-repel-jail-break\/","title":{"rendered":"Niger Police Parade Bandit Leader Dattijo, Repel Jail Break"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-872730\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NIGER-STATE-MAP.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"538\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, Niger State Commissioner of Police has paraded Umar Aliyu, aka Babuga Dattijo, a notorious bandit leader.<\/p>\n<p>Having being paraded with four suspected informants, the sum of N5 million was recovered from them.<\/p>\n<p>Danmamman, while parading the suspects at his maiden press briefing in Minna, said a total of 19 suspects involved in kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of firearms, and cattle rustling were recently arrested in the State.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the notorious bandit Datijo, 37, of Kwali, FCT Abuja, was nabbed on November 24, 2023, based on credible information by police operatives attached to the Nasko Division in Salka, Magama Local Government Area (LGA).<\/p>\n<p>According to him, in the course of the preliminary investigation, the sum of N5,120,000, three ATM cards, three national identity cards, two other identity cards, a driver\u2019s licence, and four mobile phones were recovered from the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>Three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles with magazines and two Toyota Corolla vehicles with Reg. No. KTU 906 HM and ABJ 492 LA were also later recovered from the suspect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO: \u201cThanks For Not Poisoning Me\u201d \u2013 Isreal DMW Rewards Houseboy With \u20a6200k For Christmas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His words: \u201cDuring interrogation, the suspect confessed to kidnapping activities in Shagamu expressway, Ogun State, Tambuwal in Sokoto State, Alieru in Kebbi State and Niger State. The money recovered was his share of a ransom collected from the kidnapping of a victim in Nasko.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect further confessed that he belonged to Poyi\u2019s group of bandits after the deaths of his members at Shagamu. He mentioned and provided the numbers of other members of the gang as Maidabo and Shaibu Haruna, aka Felalu of Garatu.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner of Police also revealed that following his arrest, Datijo\u2019s gang members attempted to attack Nasko Division on November 27, 2023, to rescue their leader but were repelled.<\/p>\n<p>Unknown to them, however, their leader had been moved to the State Police Headquarters in Minna.<\/p>\n<p>He further said that in a follow-up investigation into the attack with the aid of technical intelligence, Motse Mohammed, 47, and Aliya Mohammed, 48, both of Salka Magama LGA, were arrested as informants of bandits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was also established that a sum of N10,000 was sent to the two informants by the bandits through a POS point in Salka,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Danmamman however applauded the effort of all stakeholders and residents of the State for supporting the police to pull off the feat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also urge members of the public not to relent in giving useful information to the police and other security agencies towards ensuring a secure environment and society at large,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\" style=\"margin: 8px auto; text-align: center; display: block; clear: both;\">\n<div data-advadstrackid=\"890536\" data-advadstrackbid=\"1\" class=\"infor-target\" id=\"infor-1662862006\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/300x250b.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, Niger State Commissioner of Police has paraded Umar Aliyu, aka Babuga Dattijo, a notorious bandit leader.
