{"id":133095,"date":"2023-12-20T04:12:22","date_gmt":"2023-12-20T04:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/20\/intergovernmental-cooperation-key-to-our-inclusive-growth-says-ruto\/"},"modified":"2023-12-20T04:12:22","modified_gmt":"2023-12-20T04:12:22","slug":"intergovernmental-cooperation-key-to-our-inclusive-growth-says-ruto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/20\/intergovernmental-cooperation-key-to-our-inclusive-growth-says-ruto\/","title":{"rendered":"Intergovernmental Cooperation Key To Our Inclusive Growth, says Ruto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"brxe-zmhdqk\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-304785\" alt=\"\" width=\"902\" height=\"538\"  data-lazy- src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rutocounty.jpg\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-304785\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rutocounty.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"902\" height=\"538\"  \/>President William Ruto has said the Government is committed to bolstering intergovernmental relations to deepen devolution.<\/p>\n<p>The Government, he explained, had effectively supported county governments to enhance their capacity to deliver services to the people.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the successful collaboration between the national and county governments will foster socio-economic transformation at the grassroots, advancing the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that our country\u2019s fortunes, to a decisive extent, are dependent on how we manage the devolution and resources,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He made the remarks on Monday during the 10th National and County Governments Coordinating Summit at State House, Nairobi.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-304786\" alt=\"\" width=\"897\" height=\"552\"  data-lazy- src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/natcount.jpg\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-304786\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/natcount.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"897\" height=\"552\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The President noted that the timely disbursement of funds by the national government to counties is crucial in ensuring that the devolved governments can meet their constitutional mandate.<\/p>\n<p>The Summit resolved to engage stakeholders to expedite the transfer of devolved functions.<\/p>\n<p>Counties also agreed to sign all the necessary Intergovernmental Agreements with the National Treasury within 14 days to activate the disbursement of funds for County Industrial and Aggregation Parks.<\/p>\n<p>They agreed to extend the stipend for Community Health Promoters from the current three years to five years.<\/p>\n<p>To enhance access to subsidised fertiliser, it was resolved counties will spearhead the distribution of the fertiliser to farmers under the last mile programme.<\/p>\n<p>They resolved that an accountability system will be set up to ensure that the distribution of supplies to areas affected by El Ni\u00f1o is monitored and evaluated.<\/p>\n<p>Present were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Cabinet Secretaries, governors, Cabinet Secretaries and other officials.<\/p>\n<p><em>By the Presidential Communication Service(PCS)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President William Ruto has said the Government is committed to bolstering intergovernmental relations to deepen devolution.
