{"id":132040,"date":"2023-12-17T09:13:46","date_gmt":"2023-12-17T09:13:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/17\/sanwo-olu-approves-wage-award-50-salary-bonus-for-workers\/"},"modified":"2023-12-17T09:13:46","modified_gmt":"2023-12-17T09:13:46","slug":"sanwo-olu-approves-wage-award-50-salary-bonus-for-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/17\/sanwo-olu-approves-wage-award-50-salary-bonus-for-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"Sanwo-Olu Approves Wage Award, 50% Salary Bonus For Workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-890039\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Sanwo-Olu-768x576-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, has approved N35,000 wage award for State public servants.<\/p>\n<p>Sanwo-Olu also approved the payment of 50% of basic salary as an end-of-year bonus for all political appointees and public servants, employees of Local Governments and local Council Development Areas, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board and the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps.<\/p>\n<p>The approval was contained in a circular signed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, with reference number CIR\/HOS\/\u201923\/Vol. 1\/ 109.<\/p>\n<p>The circular titled \u20182023 End Of Year Bonus And Implementation Of Wage Awards\u2019, stated that Sanwo-Olu approved the payments as part of his administration\u2019s appreciation of public servants\u2019 contribution towards the progress of the State, as well as his commitment to their welfare.<\/p>\n<p>It was stated that the end-of-year bonus and the wage award which would be paid alongside December 2023 salary, would be non-taxable.<\/p>\n<p>READ ALSO: Sanwo-Olu Sacks LASTMA Boss, Appoints Replacement<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs part of the present administration\u2019s continuous appreciation of the contributions of all public servants towards the advancement of the state and its unrelenting commitment to the welfare of its workforce, it is hereby notified for general information that Mr. Governor has graciously approved the payment of 50% of basic salary as end-of-year bonus for all political appointees and public servants, including employees of local governments and local council development areas, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board and Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the same vein, Mr. Governor has further approved the implementation of the wage award (palliative) pending the review of the national minimum wage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, the 50% of the basic salary as an end-of-year Bonus, as well as the wage award (palliative), will be paid alongside the December 2023 salary as a non-taxable element.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSequel to the foregoing, public servants are implored to continually strive for excellence in providing qualitative service delivery to the people of the State in line with Mr Governor\u2019s THEMES+ Agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccordingly, all heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies are hereby enjoined to note the content of this circular and give it the service-wide publicity it deserves,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\" style=\"margin: 8px auto; text-align: center; display: block; clear: both;\">\n<div data-advadstrackid=\"890536\" data-advadstrackbid=\"1\" class=\"infor-target\" id=\"infor-1802183713\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/300x250b.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, has approved N35,000 wage award for State public servants.
