{"id":132038,"date":"2023-12-17T08:50:26","date_gmt":"2023-12-17T08:50:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/17\/doctors-tagged-him-not-fit-to-fly-only-one-leg-was-amputated-mr-ibus-son-vincent-okafor-sheds-light\/"},"modified":"2023-12-17T08:50:26","modified_gmt":"2023-12-17T08:50:26","slug":"doctors-tagged-him-not-fit-to-fly-only-one-leg-was-amputated-mr-ibus-son-vincent-okafor-sheds-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/17\/doctors-tagged-him-not-fit-to-fly-only-one-leg-was-amputated-mr-ibus-son-vincent-okafor-sheds-light\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cDoctors Tagged Him Not Fit To Fly; Only One Leg Was Amputated\u201d \u2013 Mr Ibu\u2019s Son, Vincent Okafor Sheds Light"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Son of veteran actor Mr Ibu, Vincent Okafor, has explained why his father hasn\u2019t been sent abroad for additional medical care, he also discussed his recent amputation of a leg and the actual illness the actor is afflicted with.<\/p>\n<p>News that made the rounds yesterday had alluded that the actor <strong>had performed another surgery and another leg amputated<\/strong>, following an amputation already done in November.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1008115\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1008115\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"entered lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gistreel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Mr-Ibu.jpg\" alt=\"Mr ibu's son leg amputated unfit fly disease\" width=\"1440\" height=\"1799\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Mr-Ibu.jpg\" data-ll-status=\"loaded\"\/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1008115\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Mr Ibu\u2019s son, Vicent clarified in a statement release on behalf of the family that an amputation was done on same leg, and not another leg being amputated, as is widely thought by the public.<\/p>\n<p>The amputations were necessary because, contrary to general belief, Mr. Ibu, his father, had a blood vessel disease that frequently results in blood clots.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1008116\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1008116\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"entered lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gistreel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image0-2023-10-18T170920.368-563x598-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Mr ibu's son leg amputated unfit fly disease\" width=\"1059\" height=\"1125\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image0-2023-10-18T170920.368-563x598-1.jpeg\" data-ll-status=\"loaded\"\/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1008116\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mr. Ibu.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He further said that the reason why his father is yet to be flown out of the country is because the doctors have declared him Not Fit to Fly.<\/p>\n<p>READ MORE: Why I Refused To Honour Police Invite \u2013 VeryDarkMan<\/p>\n<p>His statement read \u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe wish to Express our sincere gratitude to well meaning Nigerians and the general public for your immense contributions, physically, spiritually and most above all financially on getting our daddy Mr John Okafor (Mr Ibu) back on his feet again.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We wish to correct some misconceptions making rounds on social media concerning the current state of our Ne father\u2019s health.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>attleio \u2018 First we will like to state that our daddy wasn\u2019t amputated on both legs but only one.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The first amputation didn\u2019t completely correct his health predicament so the doctors had to go ahead to amputate same leg further to ensure we didn\u2019t loose him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Daddy\u2019s cause of sickness is also not diabetes but he\u2019s had constant clotting of the blood in his leg ( diseased blood vessels) and other health challenges posing risk to his life , therefore the need for the amputation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Lastly, the only reason why the family has not flown him out of the country till date is cause the doctors have tagged him \u201cNot Fit to Fly\u201d..<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This tag has made it extremely impossible to get him out of the country for advanced treatment as no airline will fly him..<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Daddy is currently admitted at one of the biggest and best hospital we\u2019ve got in Nigeria as of today and the hospital has availed him a pool of very astute professionals.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As Daddy is recuperating we urge his friends, colleagues, fans and Nigerians at large to keep him in thier prayers and peddle down on unconfirmed reports concerning our dad\u2019s health..<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Thank you Nigerians you all have been very supportive this period.
