I lost five in the Zaria massacre \u2014 three biological children and two adopted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I gave birth to nine children. One died naturally and three were shot dead in Zaria. One is carrying a bullet in his chest right now and I also was severely injured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy experience was traumatic. It was terrible. I saw more corpses that I never thought I would see in my life. They were killing everybody, shooting indiscriminately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were not selecting who to shoot. I don\u2019t know why they did what they did. There was no reason for it at all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPersonally, I have lost hope for justice. The movement had so far been targeted twice for no reason, during this current administration,\u201d Karofi narrated her experience to Vanguard at the Islamic Movement in Nigeria\u2019s (Shi\u2019ites) 8th anniversary of the massacre in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO: How Nigerian Army Killed 193 Children, 23 Pregnant Women, Others During \u2018Zaria Massacre\u2019 \u2013 Shi\u2019ites<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event was held with the theme: \u2018The Site of Memory: An Ardent Resistance of Our Fallen Heroes\u2019, on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the topic, \u2018Women and Children Rights Violation during Zaria Massacre\u2019, one of the guest speakers, Prof Isah Hassan Mshelgaru reiterated calls for the prosecution of the executors of the December 12, 2015 massacre in Zaria, Kaduna State.<\/p>\n<p>Mshelgaru also solicited justice on behalf of the victims, while calling on the attention of human rights advocates, at local and international levels, to the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmnesty International and similar bodies, the international community, the claimants of democracy and civility championships; UNICEF, whose area of responsibility is mothers and children affairs; feminists, at local and international levels and advocates of women\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTaking similar measures to the global impacts on the Palestinian issue we can do the same and attract sympathy for the Zaria 2015 rights violation victims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were not only kidnapped but sexually harassed and mercilessly murdered by state terrorists,\u201d Mshelgaru said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\" style=\"margin: 8px auto; text-align: center; display: block; clear: both;\">\n<div data-advadstrackid=\"890536\" data-advadstrackbid=\"1\" class=\"infor-target\" id=\"infor-1987003115\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/300x250b.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A survivor of the 2015 Zaria massacre in Kaduna State, Jummai Karofi, has voiced her despair over the death of her five children during the tragedy.
