{"id":130905,"date":"2023-12-14T03:43:57","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T03:43:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/14\/ruto-applauds-kenyan-diaspora-for-contribution-to-countrys-economic-growth\/"},"modified":"2023-12-14T03:43:57","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T03:43:57","slug":"ruto-applauds-kenyan-diaspora-for-contribution-to-countrys-economic-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/14\/ruto-applauds-kenyan-diaspora-for-contribution-to-countrys-economic-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"Ruto Applauds Kenyan Diaspora for Contribution to Country&#8217;s Economic Growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-304465\" alt=\"\" width=\"915\" height=\"559\"  data-lazy- src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rutodias.jpg\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-304465\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rutodias.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"915\" height=\"559\"  \/>President William Ruto has said the government appreciates the role played by the Kenyan diaspora in the economic growth of the country.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that their contribution through remittances has overtaken the performance of major exports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to create a seamless network that facilitates, promotes and supports the Diaspora investment at home,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He made the remarks on Wednesday during the Diaspora Investment Conference held in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>President Ruto said the government is implementing robust measures to promote local investment by the Diaspora.<\/p>\n<p>The President said the Government is implementing the Global Labour Market Strategy to help the youth get employed abroad.<\/p>\n<p>This, he observed, will foster the transfer of knowledge, skills and technology in the country.<\/p>\n<p>To further expand job opportunities in the country, President Ruto said the Government is establishing Special Economic Zones to attract foreign direct investments.<\/p>\n<p>The President said funds have been allocated for the construction of infrastructure in six SEZs.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the SEZs will not only offer incentives to investors but also enhance the country\u2019s manufacturing and export capacity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to expand job opportunities both locally and abroad for our youth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President William Ruto has said the government appreciates the role played by the Kenyan diaspora in the economic growth of the country.
