I now know that I will never leave him.\u201dShe explained<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-980357 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/will-smith.webp.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jada also mentioned the positive changes that followed the incident and expressed her gratitude for attending the ceremony, despite initially considering skipping it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI call it the \u2018holy slap\u2019 now because so many positive things came after it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">While the event may have had a positive effect on the duo\u2019s marriage, the moment led to public scrutiny and Smith having to\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">repeatedly apologize<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It also led to his resignation\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences<\/span>\u00a0and a ban from attending the Oscars ceremony \u2014 and all other academy events \u2014 for the next 10 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Pinkett Smith told \u201cToday\u201d co-host Hoda Kotb that\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">she was surprised<\/span>\u00a0that the \u201cBad Boys\u201d star referred to her as his wife on Oscars night when he told Chris Rock to \u201ckeep my wife\u2019s name out your f\u2014 mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cFirst of all, I\u2019m shocked \u2026 we haven\u2019t called each other \u2018husband\u2019 and \u2018wife\u2019 in a long time.
