Jasmine Dinis\u00a0is\u00a0a stay-at-home mother and proud \u201ctrad wife\u201d\u00a0\u2014 short for \u201ctraditional wife,\u201d a term that is taking over TikTok as many women admit to wanting to follow a more nuclear family code.<\/p>\n
For Dinis, she revealed that this lifestyle was something she wanted to pass on to her daughter.<\/p>\n

Dinis\u2019 controversial take has garnered a slew of criticism, which was amplified in a recent video that she posted of her and her daughter.<\/p>\n
In the 11-second clip, Dinis admitted\u00a0that she wasn\u2019t someone who followed a progressive lifestyle and preferred to be a stay-at-home mother who dedicated her life to her children and husband. She confessed to wanting the same for her daughter.<\/p>\n
In the caption of the video, Dinis explained that she refused\u00a0to be the type of mother who taught her daughter the value of being independent. She claimed that \u201cin a world\u201d of mothers \u201cteaching their children\u00a0that their only goal is to go to university, get a good job, and make money, I\u2019m teaching my little girl to live a slow life.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be a biblical woman that wants a husband & a beautiful family that she can serve daily. That joy comes from God & family, not from a career,\u201d she added. The Australian-based mother was vocal on her platform about finding joy in moving away from being an \u201cindependent, career-driven woman\u201d\u00a0to a \u201chousewife that bakes sourdough.\u201d<\/p>\n
People in the comments section disagreed intensely with the lessons that Dinis chose\u00a0to teach her daughter. One TikTok user wrote, \u201cMy mum did this. Now she cries because she wants to be independent but can\u2019t because she\u2019s only qualified to be a cleaner but can\u2019t do that due to health issues.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s nothing wrong with Dinis\u2019 desire to be a stay-at-home mother who dedicates her entire life to raising her children. The journey of motherhood is unique for each woman and no one should be shamed for the lifestyle they choose to live.<\/p>\n
However, the issue comes in\u00a0when traditionalists start shaming women\u00a0who want a more progressive life filled with education and independence. There is more to womanhood than being a mother and a devoted wife and not every person wants to follow a traditional path.<\/p>\n
