The\u00a0Ghana Revenue Authority\u00a0(GRA) has reaffirmed its position regarding Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) charges, specifically addressing concerns related to transactions between bank accounts and mobile money wallets.<\/p>\n The GRA has made it clear that accounts linked directly to one\u2019s mobile money wallet should not attract any\u00a0E-Levy\u00a0charges during transactions.<\/p>\n The clarification comes in response to an X user\u2019s request for clarity on recent deductions being reported on social media.<\/p>\n The user questioned \u201cAre taxes imposed on the transfer of monies from bank accounts to linked momo numbers a directive from your office? @Ghana Revenue.\u201d<\/p>\n In response, the GRA clarified that any charges incurred in such transactions are errors on the part of the charging entities.<\/p>\n The GRA emphasized that these charges are illegal, as the laws surrounding the E-levy have not changed.<\/p>\n \u201cNo, please. It is an error on the part of the charging entities. The law has not changed.
