{"id":128437,"date":"2023-12-07T09:15:43","date_gmt":"2023-12-07T09:15:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/07\/being-a-nigerian-is-tough-tems\/"},"modified":"2023-12-07T09:15:43","modified_gmt":"2023-12-07T09:15:43","slug":"being-a-nigerian-is-tough-tems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/07\/being-a-nigerian-is-tough-tems\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cBeing A Nigerian Is Tough\u201d \u2013 Tems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage name as Tems, has spoken out, stating that being a Nigerian citizen is one of the toughest thing.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-902286 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/IMG_0369.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"633\" height=\"935\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Tems shed light on the harsh reality that many Nigerians must endure by sharing her experiences navigating the complexities of her hometown.<\/p>\n<p>She did, however, add that, despite the hurdles, being a Nigerian has a benefit if one exploits their gift and takes it to an audience that will value it.<\/p>\n<p>She called being a woman of Nigerian descent \u201ca\u00a0<em>miracle<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recently, in a London, UK interview with Kiss FM, the Oscar-nominated diva said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBeing a Nigerian woman is a miracle. Because being a Nigerian, for anybody, is tough. I won\u2019t say the most blessed but everybody is blessed in an equal manner but Nigerian women are very special to me.
