{"id":127183,"date":"2023-12-04T13:12:32","date_gmt":"2023-12-04T13:12:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/04\/private-developer-evicts-scores-of-traders\/"},"modified":"2023-12-04T13:12:32","modified_gmt":"2023-12-04T13:12:32","slug":"private-developer-evicts-scores-of-traders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/12\/04\/private-developer-evicts-scores-of-traders\/","title":{"rendered":"Private developer evicts scores of traders \u2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Scores of traders have been displaced after a private developer barricaded a section of the\u00a0Kejetia market\u00a0in the Ashanti Regional capital\u00a0Kumasi, close to the railway line in the early hours of Monday, December 4.<\/p>\n<p>The developer whose name has only been given as Agya Osei is allegedly, being supported by one Albert a former staff of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/market-300x225.jpg\" alt=\" | 3News - First In News | Ghana News Updates\" class=\"wp-image-334306\" title=\"market | 3News - First In News | Ghana News Updates\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Agya Osei had earlier told\u00a0Akoma FM, that he secured the land from the\u00a0Ghana\u00a0Railway Authority.<\/p>\n<p>The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, however, claims the developer has no license to develop the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is so painful, with few days to\u00a0Christmas\u00a0how do you expect my\u00a0family\u00a0to survive?\u201d An affected trader queried with tears in her eyes.<\/p>\n<p>A private\u00a0security\u00a0man hired by the traders has gone missing.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/market-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\" | 3News - First In News | Ghana News Updates\" class=\"wp-image-334307\" title=\"market 2 | 3News - First In News | Ghana News Updates\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t find my brother, since the landguards arrived, I don\u2019t know whether he is still alive.
