Spokesperson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-901791\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Screenshot_20231203-030431_Opera-Mini.jpg\" alt=\"Tinubu's Budget of Renewed Hope\" width=\"1077\" height=\"706\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Philip Agbese, Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, has knocked the Member representing Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, Yusuf Galambi, for making a \u201ccareless\u201d and unpatriotic comment about the 2024 budget presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that President Tinubu had on Wednesday, presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N27.5 trillion, representing the 2024 budget estimates, to the joint session of the National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Galambi of the New Nigeria People\u2019s Party (NNPP), had accused Tinubu of presenting \u201cempty boxes\u201d, suggesting that, the President was not ready for budget defence but only came out to deceive the populace.<\/p>\n<p>However, while answering questions from newsmen at the National Assembly on Saturday, the spokesperson ascribed such comments from his colleague to post-election petition tribunal\u2019s fatigue and lack of diligent attention during plenary.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThe House of Representatives has passed that stage long ago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO: \u2018There Was No Breakdown, Presentation Was Deceitful\u2019 \u2014 NNPP lawmaker Alleges Tinubu Submitted Budget With No Document<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 10th National Assembly of the House of Representatives doesn\u2019t entertain frivolities from the executive or members of the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Agbese, who represents Ado\/Okpokwu\/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, hinted that, \u201cthe Committee on Appropriation has long ago distributed the details of the budget proposal to the respective Committees.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the relevant Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) would be invited as from Monday, to give justification for the estimates (budget defence), as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Agbese also assured that, \u201cMr. Speaker in his usual style, will monitor the activities of all the Committees during the period of scrutiny and Nigerians can be rest assured of the best from the People\u2019s House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Describing the House of Representatives under Speaker Tajudeen Abass as one of the \u201cmost responsible Parliaments in the world,\u201d Agbese said, \u201cthe statement by Rep.
