{"id":125747,"date":"2023-11-30T11:06:27","date_gmt":"2023-11-30T11:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/11\/30\/enough-is-enough-release-nnamdi-kanu-now\/"},"modified":"2023-11-30T11:06:27","modified_gmt":"2023-11-30T11:06:27","slug":"enough-is-enough-release-nnamdi-kanu-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/11\/30\/enough-is-enough-release-nnamdi-kanu-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Enough Is Enough, Release Nnamdi Kanu Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Indigenous People of Biafra has lamented over the continued detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in the Department for State Service\u2019s solitary confinement.<\/p>\n<p>The group, on Wednesday, stated that Kanu\u2019s detention was a violation of his rights and in disregard of court orders directing his release.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement made available to the public by the IPOB\u2019s lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor,\u00a0 asked the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s led government to immediately free the embattled leader of the group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0Imo Guber: Don\u2019t Be Used To Rig, Cause Crisis On Nov 11 \u2013 IPOB Warns INEC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The statement partly read: \u201cThe continued illegal and unconstitutional detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in a solitary confinement in the facility of the Nigerian State Security Service, is in flagrant disobedience to various orders of courts of competent jurisdiction, a gross violation of his human rights as clearly provided for under the Nigerian Constitution; African Charter on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights; United Nations General Assembly Resolution on the Rights to Self-Determination and other International Conventions and Treaties to which Nigeria is a signatory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nigerian State must free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in compliance with its own laws, conventions and court orders, and the time is now.
