{"id":124557,"date":"2023-11-28T04:15:51","date_gmt":"2023-11-28T04:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/11\/28\/delay-in-helb-loans-disbursement-sorted-govt-assures\/"},"modified":"2023-11-28T04:15:51","modified_gmt":"2023-11-28T04:15:51","slug":"delay-in-helb-loans-disbursement-sorted-govt-assures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/11\/28\/delay-in-helb-loans-disbursement-sorted-govt-assures\/","title":{"rendered":"Delay in HELB Loans Disbursement Sorted, Govt Assures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-271738\" alt=\"How to get your HELB clearance certificate on eCitizen\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\"  data-lazy- src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/How-To-Get-Your-HELB-Clearance-Certificate.jpg\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-271738\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/How-To-Get-Your-HELB-Clearance-Certificate.jpg\" alt=\"How to get your HELB clearance certificate on eCitizen\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\"  \/>The Principal Secretary for Higher Education, Mr. Fredrick Ndambuki, has assured that the government will take the necessary steps to ensure that the funds disbursed by the Higher Education\u2019s Loans Board (HELB) reach the learners on time.<\/p>\n<p>Ndambuki, who spoke during the graduation ceremony at Uzima University in Kisumu on behalf of Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, regretted that there have been delays in the disbursement of such funds but assured that the process of the disbursement has been streamlined.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to mention that the delay in the disbursement of funds has been sorted out and is now on course, and before long all the learners will receive their monies,\u201d assured Ndambuki.<\/p>\n<p>The PS indicated that the government has made adequate arrangements to ensure that outstanding debts in various learning institutions that have jeopardised the smooth operations of the institutions are settled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also trying to see how best we can be able to deal with issues of pending bills for universities, and I know the respective vice chancellors are in a meeting in our office and planning to do all possible to clear the pending bills,\u201d noted Ndambuki.<\/p>\n<p>Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang\u2019 Nyong\u2019o decried the tedious process in accessing HELB, which has kept off many parents and learners, and called for a sensitization programme for the would-be beneficiaries on how to undertake the process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new funding model has also confused students and parents, as some of them are yet to know how to apply for the funds.
