It can only be accessed by walking along the cliffs south of the ancient site D\u00fan Aonghasa, but in recent years it has become famous for hosting the renowned Red Bull Cliff Diving  Series. The most fascinating thing about Poll na bP\u00e9ist is its remarkable rectangular shape, which has led many to question its natural origins and sparked several theories, including that it is the work of an ancient civilization.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-79994 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/gp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/wormhole.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"477\"\/><span id=\"more-79993\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Photo: Marc Calhoun\u00a0\/\u00a0The Worm Hole\u00a0\/\u00a0<\/em><em><a class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-sa\/2.0\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">CC BY-SA 2.0<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The unusual formation features underwater channels that connect to the sea. Water flows into Poll na bP\u00e9ist through a subterranean cavern, or sometimes waves crash over at high tide, filling it from the top.
