Prosecutors in Durr\u00ebs, the second largest city in Albania, have started\u00a0investigations into what led to the death of Ghanaian footballer, Raphael Dwamena.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The KF Egnatia striker and captain collapsed and died\u00a0after suffering a cardiac attack during the game against FK Partizani on Saturday, November 11.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old lost consciousness in the 23rd minute during\u00a0the league match between his side Egnatia and Partizan and was immediately taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n

Dwamena, however, did not survive upon arrival at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The footballer\u2019s death came as a shock to many following his bright start in the season with the Albania top-flight side.<\/p>\n

However, Prosecutors have started gathering information after questioning the team and medical staff, procedural part of the case, where and when the footballer lost his life.<\/p>\n

A forensic investigation will also be undertaken to find the leading cause of his death while a record of his medical history has also been taken from the club.<\/p>\n

The body of the player has been transported from Kavaja Hospital to Tirana for an autopsy.<\/p>\n

Dwamena had heart problems before joining the Albanian club and twice collapsed on the pitch during his time in Austria.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, former and current Black Stars players have paid tributes to the 28-year-old.<\/p>\n

Raphael Dwamena made a total of nine appearances for the Black Stars and scored twice.<\/p>\n
