Ayisha Modi expresses discontent upon discovering that Second Lady Samira Bawumia purportedly has a collection of high-end designer handbags, perhaps valued at a cumulative sum exceeding $100,000.

Samira Bawumia has appeared in numerous social media images holding designer handbags made by well-known fashion houses like Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, Hermes, Valentino Garavani, Louis Vuitton, Anel, and Chanel.

The Second Lady has been shown in photographic evidence holding these bags on several occasions. A social media user made the decision to get a screenshot of the bags and then shared the costs of those bags on the platform. According to reports, the Hermes purse is estimated to possess a minimum value of GH131,000 (£9000).

In response to the aforementioned situation, Ayisha Modi has chosen to publicly criticise Samira Bawumia for allegedly disregarding the welfare of the populace and allocating funds towards the acquisition of extravagant handbags.

Ayisha asserts that the cumulative expenditure on luxury handbags possessed by the Second Lady is sufficient to get a substantial number of hospital beds.

Ayisha Modi asserted that Dr. Bawumia’s wife, Samira, was carrying a bag worth $120,000. She also questioned the potential number of hospital beds that might be acquired with such a significant sum of money.

To the best knowledge of Ayisha Modi, certain hospitals have a shortage of available beds, resulting in instances when individuals are compelled to give birth in non-hospital settings.

As citizens of Ghana, it is imperative that we engage in critical thinking, as the focus should not just be on political affiliations, but rather on the progress and development that our country requires.

She further expressed her viewpoint by stating that a significant number of individuals are now experiencing unemployment, but a single individual has the financial means to spend in excess of $100,000 on a handbag.

In light of this, she questions the assertion that such behaviour exemplifies commendable leadership qualities.

If such circumstances are really true, it may be inferred that the inhabitants are experiencing adversity due to their lack of intelligence. What contributions has she made towards the advancement of women in Ghana?
