{"id":117714,"date":"2023-11-08T15:17:35","date_gmt":"2023-11-08T15:17:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/11\/08\/kbth-reopens-renal-dialysis-services-to-outpatients\/"},"modified":"2023-11-08T15:17:35","modified_gmt":"2023-11-08T15:17:35","slug":"kbth-reopens-renal-dialysis-services-to-outpatients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/11\/08\/kbth-reopens-renal-dialysis-services-to-outpatients\/","title":{"rendered":"KBTH Reopens Renal Dialysis Services To Outpatients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), has announced the re-opening of the Renal Dialysis Unit to outpatients.<\/p>\n<p>The decision by the Korle Bu management follows subsequent engagement with the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ministry of Health is working closely with the management of KBTH to offset the GH\u20b5 4 million debt occasioned by the cost under recoveries,\u201d the management said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>It further called on Parliament to expedite action on the proposed new fees and charges to enable the hospital recover cost and sustain the service.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital management also commended individuals, corporate bodies and other philanthropic organisations who have over the years helped to provide life-saving treatment to patients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is our hope that other stakeholders and benefactors will also come on board to support in order to prevent a recurrence of the challenges that led to the suspension of dialysis service to outpatients,\u201d the management said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Jamila Akweley Okertchiri<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 The Management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), has announced the re-opening of the Renal Dialysis Unit to outpatients.
