the cultural spectacle of &#8216;The Mansa World&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<br><div id=\"article-text\">\n                        \n\n                        \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018The Mansa World\u2019, an ambitious storytelling project by Ghanaian poet and playwright Chief Moomen, was launched at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation\u2019s (UNESCO) headquarters in Paris on October 18, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The launch featured a highlight performance of the epic theatrical production <strong><em>Mansa Musa and the Trail of Lost Gold (Chapter One), <\/em><\/strong>the first of major productions being developed under The Mansa World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/The-Mansa-World1-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032400794 lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1;width:749px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The performance involved an ensemble of 60 casts and crew made up of actors, singers, dancers and instrumentalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ensemble also took to the streets of Paris to deliver an exciting African cultural performance which engaged tourists and the general public at the Place du Trocadero near the Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The Mansa World<\/em>\u00a0is an initiative that is curating African history and heritage in a variety of exciting content across theatre, film and other derivatives for global audiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/The-Mansa-World3-1024x691.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032400796 lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4819102749638204;width:771px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The launch is part of an engagement process between producers of The World, Bambu Heritage Productions, and UNESCO towards a major partnership for the promotion of African history and heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By engaging interactively with Africa&#8217;s past and the prospects of its future, the partnership is aimed at promoting the teaching, learning and dissemination of UNESCO\u2019s General History of Africa (GHA) volumes through different means to learners of all ages, while highlighting the role of\u00a0African youth and the creative industry in\u00a0Africa\u00a0in this process.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It fulfils an important mandate of UNESCO\u2019s Flagship\u00a0Programme 2 of the Operational Strategy for \u2018Priority Africa 2022-29\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/The-Mansa-World2-1024x691.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032400795 lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4819102749638204;width:791px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bambu Heritage Productions and UNESCO will now work to take The Mansa World on a global tour to promote their shared objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Present at the launch were Assistant Director General of UNESCO for Education, Stefania Giannini, senior UNESCO directors and officials, ambassadors and permanent delegations, and members of the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mansa World team in Paris was supported by patrons from Ghana through Masala Corporate Ltd, with institutional support also from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) and the Development Bank of Ghana (DBG).<\/p>\n\n                <p><strong>DISCLAIMER: <\/strong>The Views, Comments, Opinions, Contributions and Statements made by Readers and Contributors on this platform do not necessarily represent the views or policy of Multimedia Group Limited.<\/p>      \n                <!-- Post Tags -->\n                \n\n                         \n                                             \n                    <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018The Mansa World\u2019, an ambitious storytelling project by Ghanaian poet and playwright Chief Moomen, was launched at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation\u2019s (UNESCO) headquarters in Paris on October 18, 2023.
