{"id":113355,"date":"2023-10-23T11:50:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-23T11:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/10\/23\/ofori-atta-charges-assemblies\/"},"modified":"2023-10-23T11:50:00","modified_gmt":"2023-10-23T11:50:00","slug":"ofori-atta-charges-assemblies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/10\/23\/ofori-atta-charges-assemblies\/","title":{"rendered":"Ofori-Atta Charges Assemblies &#8211;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong><em>Some of the participants<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori Atta has charged the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to take the lead in advancing the initiative for improved revenue mobilization.<\/p>\n<p>He also called on the assemblies to strengthen their sub structures including Sub-Metros, Urban, Town, Area and Zonal Councils for revenue mobilisation.<\/p>\n<p>He said the sub structures have been established by law to execute delegated functions on behalf of the District Assemblies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is imperative to activate and reinforce these structures, ensuring they are fully operational to strengthen revenue mobilization efforts and effectively carry out their delegated responsibilities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>This was contained in an address read on his behalf at the Western Regional Composite Budget Hearings on the 2024-2027 Composite Budget.<\/p>\n<p>He mentioned that the unwavering commitment by the assemblies to their fiscal responsibility during the country\u2019s trying times will be instrumental in helping to navigate through the situation and ultimately guide the country back to a path of economic growth and fiscal consolidation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn view of this, there is the need to work together and prioritise the implementation of the strategies and activities in the Revenue Improvement Action Plan (RIAP) to improve revenue mobilisation and fiscal management,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the RIAP serves as a valuable tool, and its successful implementation holds the potential to significantly enhance revenue mobilization for the District Assemblies.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ofori-Atta said it was incumbent on the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) and the Coordinating Directors to ensure that all budgetary and financial transactions are executed through the Government Integrated Financial Management System (GIFMIS) to streamline reporting and enable prompt decision making.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From Emmanuel Opoku, Takoradi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of the participants \u00a0 Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori Atta has charged the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to take the lead in advancing the initiative for improved revenue mobilization.
