{"id":113342,"date":"2023-10-23T11:33:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-23T11:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/10\/23\/gsa-engages-media-on-shipping-logistics-industry\/"},"modified":"2023-10-23T11:33:00","modified_gmt":"2023-10-23T11:33:00","slug":"gsa-engages-media-on-shipping-logistics-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/10\/23\/gsa-engages-media-on-shipping-logistics-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"GSA Engages Media On Shipping, Logistics Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>GSA officials, resource persons and journalists at the seminar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority, (GSA) has held a day\u2019s seminar for journalists to share new trends in the shipping and logistics industry.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar, the 8<sup>th<\/sup> in the series, themed, \u201cContemporary Trends and Developments In Ghana\u2019s Shipping and Logistics Industry\u201d, brought to the fore the speedy evolvement of the shipping and logistics sector which is one of the key drivers of the socio-economic development.<\/p>\n<p>It also shed light on the wide scope, reach and impact of the industry on its varied stakeholders, most importantly, the numerous indirect beneficiaries of its output.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Executive Officer, GSA, Benonita Bismarck, in her opening remarks said the Authority recognizes the Media as an indispensable stakeholder in its mission to effectively protect and promote the interest of shippers in the country.<\/p>\n<p>She intimated that in order to discharge its duty aptly, the GSA requires the dissemination of critical information to engage the shipping community meaningfully hence the need for the services of the media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to place on record that, this pivotal role of the Media is not lost on us. Consequently, as we strive to provide timely and apposite solutions to importers and exporters, we have and continue to consciously maintain a professional relationship with the media,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She noted that knowledge of the appropriate processes, regulations, laws and requirements along the entire value chain and the means to effectively comply with them is priceless.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTaking such information to the doorstep of the shipper regularly is an essential enabling tool that saves the shipper money, time, the inconvenience of botched effort and most importantly close shaves, if not encounters with the full rigours of the law,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<p>The journalists were taken through a series of presentations including; \u2018The Impact of Negotiated Freight Rates on the Shipping and Logistics Industry\u2019, \u2018The Relevance of Certificates of Origin in the Implementation of AfCFTA\u2019, and \u2018Payment of Marine Cargo Insurance Locally\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>GJA President, Albert Dwumfour, urged the journalists to take advantage of the information share to enhance their reportage on the shipping and logistics industry and use their various channels to amplify the knowledge and information received for the benefit of the entire shipping community and the public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Jamila Akweley Okertchiri<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GSA officials, resource persons and journalists at the seminar \u00a0 Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority, (GSA) has held a day\u2019s seminar for journalists to share new trends in the shipping and logistics industry.
