Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says \u201ceveryone is united\u201d at the club despite a poor start to the season.<\/p>\n
United suffered a third successive defeat in a 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek.<\/p>\n
They have lost three of their opening five Premier League games in Ten Hag\u2019s second season in charge.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know it\u2019s not always only going up. You will have your gaps and you can get stronger from it as long as you stay together,\u201d the Dutchman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s what we are doing in the dressing room, with all staff and coaches.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone is united and, at United, you fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
In former Ajax boss Ten Hag\u2019s first season at Old Trafford, United finished third in the league \u2013 improving on sixth in the previous campaign \u2013 to qualify for the Champions League, while they also won the Carabao Cup.<\/p>\n
The 53-year-old bolstered his squad with signings including striker Rasmus Hojlund, midfielder Mason Mount and goalkeeper Andre Onana in the summer.<\/p>\n
However, United have struggled at the start of the season, with defeats by Tottenham, Arsenal and Brighton leaving them 13th in the early standings.<\/p>\n
Onana, a \u00a347.2m signing from Champions League finalists Inter Milan to replace David de Gea, in particular, has come under scrutiny and insisted he had \u201clet the team down\u201d after\u00a0his error for Bayern\u2019s first goal\u00a0on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s about the team and as a team we haven\u2019t been getting results,\u201d Ten Hag said when asked about his goalkeeper.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndividuals haven\u2019t brought the performance you expect and it\u2019s not only one player but more, including the manager.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s about 11 players doing their job. We attack with 11 and defend with 11, so when one or two don\u2019t do their job then it goes like a pack of cards.\u201d<\/p>\n
United\u2019s problems have been exacerbated by off-field issues.<\/p>\n
Brazil winger Antony, an \u00a381.3m signing in 2022, has\u00a0delayed his return to the club\u00a0following the international break \u201cto address allegations\u201d of assault made against him.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho will again be absent from the squad to face Burnley on Saturday (20:00 BST) and continues to train away from the first team until\u00a0issues with Ten Hag are resolved.<\/p>\n
On whether Sancho could depart in the January transfer window, Ten Hag said: \u201cIt depends on him.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the rest, we are preparing for Burnley and that is our focus. He [Sancho] will not be in the squad.\u201d<\/p>\n
The United boss, who recently said\u00a0there was \u201cno good culture\u201d\u00a0at the club when he arrived, added: \u201cAt United, you have to win every game, so the mentality doesn\u2019t change.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs always, it\u2019s about how we play against Burnley. There is no easy game, especially against Burnley. We know how intense they play and I must say I like their approach and their adventure. I like the intensity and dynamics. We must play our best.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reports have suggested there are also concerns at United surrounding the role of Ten Hag\u2019s agent, Kees Vos, in transfer decisions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere can\u2019t be [concerns]. We make very good agreements about it from the start and how we cooperate in that matter,\u201d Ten Hag said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor player decisions and transfers it is 50\/50, the club represented by John Murtough, and me, so it cannot be any distraction.\u201d<\/p>\n
