Daniel Afriyie Barnieh (born 26 June 2001) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder, or forward for Zurich.
Afriyie featured for a number of colts (juvenile) clubs in the Ashanti Region where he ascended to a cult hero status. He began at Amansie FC before joining Celtic Academy in Kumasi then moved to colts club Valencia in 2015.
Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, commonly referred to as Hearts of Oak or just Hearts, is a professional sports club based in Accra (Greater Accra), Ghana.
Afriyie Barnieh signed for Hearts in July 2019 and went ahead to become a mainstay in the team having played integral role in the club’s double trophy drought.
Accra Hearts of Oak has transferred Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to FC Zurich of Switzerland.
He has renewed his contract with Hearts of Oak until after the CHAN tournament.
Hearts of Oak will receive 150,000 dollars as a compensation fee rather than transfer fee and they have a huge percentage of future sales in the deal to FC Zurich.
