Kaizer Chiefs is reportedly offering a new five-year contract to 21-year-old midfielder Samkelo Zwane, aiming to secure his talents until 2028. Zwane was a key player in Chiefs’ midfield last season, with 12 league appearances and 16 in all competitions. The club is looking to retain young talents like him who have grown within the team’s culture.
Chiefs’ technical team seems committed to investing in Zwane’s potential as a holding midfielder, especially after Njabulo Blom’s departure. While Zwane’s passing abilities are highly regarded, there’s room for improvement in his defensive skills if he’s to play in the “6” position. Chiefs’ management is focused on building for the future and nurturing players like Zwane.
The potential starting XI for Chiefs in the MTN8 semi-final against Sundowns could include players like Petersen, Frosler, Msimango, Ditlhokwe, Hlanti, Maart, Castillo, Mdantsane, Saile, Du Preez, and Mmodi. Pule Mmodi’s goal-scoring form might secure his spot on the left side of the attack, while Christian Saile could make the starting lineup based on his impressive performance.
As Chiefs continue their efforts to strengthen the team and secure young talents, the focus remains on achieving success in upcoming matches and competitions. The long-term contract offer to Zwane reflects the club’s commitment to nurturing their own and building a competitive team for the future.
