A group under the aegis of Social Rehabilitation Group, SRG, has reacted the recent claim that was made by Atiku Abubakar against President Bola Tinubu’s certificate, noting that if a certificate that was issued in 1979 got reissued some years after, the faculty that issued the certificate might have changed their staff during the period.
SRG went on and made it known that another staff of that same faculty occupying the same position as the departed official will have to endorse the reissued certificate.
Speaking further, the activists noted that when universities print certificates, they don’t keep a duplicate copy for reissuance, should the original get lost.
According to Punch Newspaper report, SRG made this disclosure in a statement that was released on Sunday, by SRG’s Convener and National Coordinator, Dr. Marindoti Oludare.
Some parts of the statement read: “When universities print certificates, they don’t keep a duplicate copy for reissuance, should the original get lost. It is common sense that if a certificate that was issued in 1979 got reissued in 1999, the issuing faculty might have turned round their staff during this period.”
In addition, Oludare made it known that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, like many heroes of our democracy in Nigeria, lost a lot during the fight for democracy, noting that one of the things Tinubu lost was his university certificate.
Speaking about the faculty’s logo, he noted that if the faculty had redesigned/rebranded its logo since the certificate was issued, they would not use the old logo for the reissued certificate.
