Transfer: Arsenal open talks to sign Ansu Fati, Man United sign Ferreira

Arsenal open talks to sign Ansu Fati

Arsenal has reignited their interest in Barcelona star Ansu Fati as it appears likely that the attacker could leave the Catalan club in this transfer window. Fati has been struggling for relevance since Xavi Hernandez became the club’s manager and has been tipped to leave. Arsenal has had him on their radar for some time and the Gunners continue to chase his signature as they intensify efforts to add him to their squad. Spanish journalist Adrian Sanchez has now delivered an update on the attacker’s future and claimed on his YouTube channel that Arsenal has opened talks to sign him. He claims the Gunners have contacted superagent Jorge Mendes and want to know what it will require to add him to their squad in this transfer window.

Man United sign Ferreira

Manchester United have announced the signing of Brazil international Geyse Da Silva Ferreira on a permanent deal. The forward joins United from Barcelona where she won the Liga F title, the Spanish Women’s Super Cup and UEFA Women’s Champions League last season. Geyse said: “I am very happy to be here. “Signing for United has been a very special day for me and my family. I am very grateful for this opportunity and thank everyone for making it happen.”

Napoli beat Arsenal and Liverpool to signing

Napoli look set to beat Arsenal and Liverpool to the signing of Spanish prospect Gabri Veiga for an initial €36million (£30m). Multiple reports state that the Celta Vigo midfielder’s transfer is imminent and a further €6m (£5m) will be paid in add-ons.

Harry Maguire snubbed West Ham due to their recent form

Harry Maguire snubbed a move to West Ham this summer as he is fearful of a relegation battle, Sam Allardyce. A £30m deal was agreed for the centre-back this summer, but the move eventually stalled after it became clear that the England international was not keen to leave Manchester United. However, Allardyce has revealed that West Ham’s recent struggles were a factor in the decision, telling the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast: “He turned West Ham down, he’s turned it down. I know his agent really well. “I think – and this is no disrespect to West Ham, because I managed them – he feels that with the troubles they had last season down the bottom of the league, he doesn’t want to be going there, he wants something bigger.”
