Shehu Sani Reacts As Tinubu Allegedly Bars Ex-Niger Delta Militants From Visiting Aso Rock

A former legislator from Kaduna and advocate for civil rights, Senator Shehu Sani, recently conveyed his endorsement of the President through a post on social media. Reports from the media indicate that the President has turned down appeals from former militants in the Niger Delta to pay him a visit at the Aso Rock Villa in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This decision to limit such visits purportedly arises from the controversy surrounding the President’s meeting with the former leader of the now-defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Alhaji Mujahideen Asari Dokubo, which took place earlier in June.

Senator Sani, a prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), praised the President in a message posted on his verified Twitter account. He affirmed that the seat of authority holds immense importance and sensitivity and should not serve as a platform for inflammatory statements by current or former militants. Sani underscored the expectation that all visitors to the Aso Rock Villa should adhere to standards of respect and propriety during their visits.
