Professor Olukayode Amund, the Vice Chancellor of Elizade University, Ondo State has revealed that private universities would soon gain recognition and take over from Public universities across the country due to constant strike actions in the system.
He recently made this known during the institution’s Matriculation ceremony, noting that there was an increase in the number if matriculants compared to previous years.
In summary, he said: ” There has been a trajectory of growth in the last four years because four years ago, we matriculated around 250, the following year increased by a hundred, last year it was 525, but this year it is 602. Parents are getting to know the university more and more, and I also believe that the closing of public universities also assisted and diverted students to private universities. In the next few years, private universities are going to take over from public universities in terms of subscriptions because four years is four years and there is a guarantee of graduating on time”.
