My Cleaner Is Just A Primary School Leaver But I Found Myself Unable To Pay Her Less Than N60,000 – Adams Oshiomhole

Adams Oshiomhole, senator for Nigeria’s Edo South Senatorial District, recently told The Cable that he pays his cleaner N60,000 per month despite the fact that she has just completed primary school.

While calling the current minimum wage in the country a “criminal wage” in a recent interview, Senator Oshiomhole made clear that the current economic situation in the country had left him with no choice but to pay his cleaner a salary of N60,000 or more.

“in my view, what we call minimum wage is a criminal wage,” the lawmaker said. What I have agreed to pay my cleaner is clear. My maid is a young child who has just finished elementary school. But she knows enough to do the housework herself. For some reason, I just couldn’t give her anything less than N60,000. My morals are at stake. I’m attempting to put myself in her shoes about her mortgage.

I’m curious as to your thoughts on this. Add your two cents in the comments.
