The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Emmanuel Osodeke has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on whom to appoint as the country’s Minister of Education.
He made this known during an interview with VANGUARD NEWS, while lamenting over the state of the country’s education sector particularly the tertiary education level and further listing out certain qualities that must be possessed by the next Minister
In summary, he said: ” Such a minister should be somebody who knows what education and a university is. Secondly, it should be somebody who will have the interest of Nigerian pupil, young boys and girls at heart. Thirdly, the person must have his family in Nigerian university system, secondary and primary schools, not somebody whose child is outside. A person who believe in Nigeria and not those who go abroad and believe Nigeria does not exist “.
