Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the prominent figure in Nigeria, expressed his surprise at becoming the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, contrary to his expectations.
During a gathering at the council chamber of Aso Villa, Abuja, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who assumed the position as Nigeria’s 16th President, conveyed this sentiment to the class of 1999 Governors, who were in attendance.
Several former Governors, Niyi Adebayo of Ekiti State, Bisi Akande of Osun State, Joshua Dariye of Plateau State, Ahmed Yerima of Zamfara State, Jolly Nyame of Taraba State, Olusegun Osoba of Ogun State, and Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto State, among others, visited the President on this occasion.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu shared, “As governors, we sat in this Council Chamber. My primary aim was to promote democracy and save the country. Becoming the President never crossed my mind, but by the grace of God, I am here today.”

He further stated, “I remain fully committed to upholding democratic values. I am deeply honored and overwhelmed by the presence of so many of you here. I maintain an open-door policy, and you all serve as my advisors. We faced challenging circumstances and emerged victorious, despite getting entangled in mud. It is through these experiences that I stand before you as the President today.”
The President emphasized the crucial role of addressing the electricity situation in the country for meaningful progress. He reassured the nation that his administration would tap into gas resources and explore all possible avenues to achieve stable power generation and distribution.
