A 21-year-old man identified as Victor Isaac has been sentenced to three years imprisonment by the Akure Chief Magistrate court sitting in Oke Eda after being found guilty of stealing. The convict which was arraigned before Magistrate Tope Aladejana, who found him guilty of the offence and sentenced him to 3-year jail term with no option of fine.
The men of the Nigerian Police Command at Ijapo Division had moved swiftly to action when the complainant known as Alphonsus Opoju reported the case of theft to the station. The police arrested Isaac few days after the robbery. The court identified that Isaac has committed an offence contrary to section 383 and punishable under section 390 (9) of the criminal code of laws of Ondo state.
The Convict who pleaded being guilty in Court stated that he had no idea that the generator he stole is worth N500,000. He alleged that he sold the generator for about N9,000 to an Aboki.
