Azimio MPs betray Kenyans during parliamentary voting on the finance bill

The finance bill 2023 that aims at increasing the tax base collection by the country’s government was passed on Wednesday evening by the member of parliament.

But what has left many Kenyans to feel betrayed was the fact that many of the Azimio la Umoja one Kenya alliance members of parliament were not present during the voting of this finance tax bill, despite the public announcement by the Azimio leader Raila Odinga that they will oppose the finance bill 2023 when it shall be presented in parliament.

The majority of leaders who missed the voting were mostly from the orange democratic movement (ODM) side.

The list of leaders who missed the voting of the bill were Babu Owino, John Mbadi, Walter Owino, Felix Odiwuor, Catherine Omayo, Peter Nabulindo Titus Khamala, Christopher Aseka, Peter Salaysa, Farah Maalim, Hiribae Said, Wilberforce Oundo, Irene Kasula and Hamisi Abdi.

Those who have missed might face disciplinary action by the party. Though those who were not present say they were not aware that the voting took place on that day.
