10 Days Left For Collection Of Voter Cards; Why Are Students Still In School? Paul Okoye asks INEC

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has given the 29th of January as the last day for the collection of the permanent voters card, or PVC, which is the main prerequisite for voting in the election.

In light of this, the popular Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy (P-Square), asked the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, why the Nigerian students are still in school when the collection of voter cards is only a few days away. He made his statement by noting that the majority of the youths that registered for the permanent voter card are students who did the registration during the ASSU strike while at home, and now they have returned to their individual schools.

It will be of concern to note that the INEC has complained severally that many eligible voters have failed to pick up their voter cards from the commission offices nationwide, despite widespread awareness that people should go for the collection of their PVC.

What is your take on this statement made by Paul Okoye?
