The former speaker of House of Rep, Yakubu Dogara has reacted towards people who are raising religious sentiment on why should Atiku who is a muslim should take over from President Buhari who is also a muslim.
According to Independent Nigeria news media, while Atiku was saying Christians will be safer under his administration, Yakubu Dogara said
For those querying why should a Muslim succeed another muslim, let them not forget that from 1999 to date Christians in President’s Obasanjo and Jonathan have ruled Nigeria for 14years while Muslims in Presidents Yar’adua and Buhari have ruled for 10year.
He made this statement at the 2023 extra-ordinary General Church Council,GCC of the Evangelical Church Winning All( ECWA) at it’s Headquarters.
As we are getting closer to the election period, Nigerians are urged not to vote with religious sentiment but by how competent the presidential aspirant is.
