PDP Loses Suit Seeking To Disqualify LP Candidates

The Federal High Court, Abuja has struck out the suit by the Peoples Democratic Party seeking disqualification of governorship and National Assembly candidates of the Labour Party and Young Progressives Party, in the 2023 general elections.
The suit was on Monday thrown out by the court for want of diligent prosecution.
In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1899/2022, PDP sought an order from the court nullifying the published names of candidates of the two parties.
The party also sought another order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission to delete the names of the published candidates.

Obi Vows To Tackle Oil Theft

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has vowed to tackle Nigeria’s multifarious challenges oil theft, debt servicing, secessionist agitation, youth unemployment, electricity problem, insecurity, amongst others.
Obi, a former governor of Anambra State spoke on Monday when he discussed his plans at a world-leading policy institute and think-tank forum, Chatham House in the United Kingdom.
According to the 61-year-old businessman, the “structure” currently in Nigeria is that of criminality and it has impoverished the West African country. He, therefore, vowed to dismantle the “structure” if elected next month.
Obi said he would fight and end public corruption.
Pro-Tinubu Group Begins Door-To-Door Campaign In FCT

The City Boy Movement, a group determined to ensure the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s President in 2023 elections, has commenced a door-to-door campaign to win grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in different wards of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The group, led by its Director of Mobilisation and Social Impact, Francis Shoga, was at the palace of the District Head of Maitama in Kubwa, Bulus Yerima Pada, for a courtesy visit on Saturday to seek the blessings of the royal father and his chiefs in Kubwa area of Abuja.
Speaking to reporters during the campaign exercise, Mr. Shoga said the essence of the visit was to campaign for the APC and Tinubu by sensitising the people at the grassroots on where and why they should put their finger prints for Tinubu during the February 25 presidential election.
Ikpeazu Swears In New Commissioner

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has sworn in Akujuobi Nkoro as Commissioner for Industry and Promotions.
The governor recently made this known during the swearing-in ceremony held at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Umuahia, the state capital.
Ikpeazu charged the new commissioner to acquit himself, work assiduously with the administration, and contribute to the development of the state.
